RIP Tina

RIP Tina
Tina was resscued when she was 9, she lived to be 17 years old. She is the poster child for all the senior dogs needing homes that are in shelters everywhere! Tina was a great dog and an excellent companion. Please, during your search for a dog, don't rule out getting an adult or senior dogs, sometimes, they make the best companions!

We need help, please donate if you can!!

Angel Paws Country Rescue primarily takes in 11th hour dogs, nursing Moms, under aged pups, sick dogs and pregnant dogs from area high kill shelters.  Did you know that nursing Moms, underage puppies, pregnant Moms and dogs needing medical care are not available for adoption and are routinely KILLED at shelters?  This is why we try to save dogs that are in these categories.

We NEED your HELP!!  If we are to continue our rescue efforts, we need help.  There are so many things that go into rescue and supplies are used up faster than we can acquire them.  We are not asking for money, we are asking you to please take a look around and see if you have any items that you can spare.

In this economy, money is tight for everyone, including rescues (who normally run in the red).  Listed below are some items that we are in great need of, any help is appreciated.  If we work together, we can make a difference!

Towels
Blankets
Sheets
Rugs (bathroom type or similar in size)
Toilet seat covers (the dogs LOVE to sleep on them)
Dog Beds
Toys
Treats
Crates

Exercise Pens or even Pack N' Plays
Dog Food
Rice (we make chicken and rice for some of the dogs that come in emaciated or sick)
Gift Cards (prefer Tractor Supply since that is where we buy our food and some
supplies, it's less expensive than those big pet stores)

Heating Pads or Heat Lamps (again, we get in sick dogs and under aged pups that need to keep warm)
Dog Houses
Dog Dishes (prefer metal or ceramic, but will take any)
Shavings (regular pine shavings, we use a lot)
NEWS PAPER (everyone has news papers, why not save them for us??)
Baby Wash
Clippers (to clean up some of the horribly matted dogs that come in)

Please check around the house, any donation is appreciated no matter how small, every little bit helps!

Cutie Pie is AVAILABLE for adoption

Cutie Pie is a darling little girl who is 12 weeks old.  The picture does not show her coat texture well, but she is a beautiful wheaten colored pup with a wire / coarse coat.  She is low shed and an easy keeper.  She is a small girl and expected to stay in the 10 pound or under range.  This little girl loves to play and is a total goof!  This baby doll would love to have a home of her own, she is currently 12-14 weeks old.

This gal has had puppy shots, rabies, flea free, micro chipped and will be spayed.

Adoption cost for this girl is $300

For an application, send an e-mail to PAWSRESCUE@YMAIL.COM

Whoo hoo... this is a BIG Puppy!! Mastiff AVAILABLE for Adoption!!

Hard to believe that these Gentle Giants are not even 5 months old yet!!  We have 3 beautiful, pure breed Mastiff pups available for adoption!!  These wonderful pups are owner surrender and looks like we may be getting their Mom soon too!

Here is a great link for breed information http://www.terrificpets.com/dog_breeds/Mastiff.asp  We ask that you know the breed before submitting an application.  These can be the most wonderful companions, but they grow up to be really BIG dogs!!

We have three available, all males mostly black with some white markings (one has wonderful white markings on his legs).

Shots have been started, they have been wormed, will be micro chipped and neutered.  Adoption cost for these big boys is $350, if you would like an application, please contact us @ PAWSRESCUE@YMAIL.COM

Hope is available for adoption!!! (Dobie MIX)

Hope came to us from Madera, she was very pregnant and really unsure of what was happening.  She happily delivered healthy babies (picture is of Hope the night she delivered her angels, look closely and you can see the babes in the picture).  Pups are weaned and Hope is ready to have a home of her own.

Hope is a great dog, house trained, good with kids of all ages, cats and other animals.  She is mid-sized (about 45 lbs), supper affectionate and young, we suspect she got pregnant on her first heat, she is only about a year old. She does need basic training, although very well behaved, she lacks formal training (sit, etc..).

Her mix is a mystery, she definitely has some Dobie in her, but the rest is up to speculation, she has a very short, tight coat.

If you are looking for a mid sized young dog, Hope is worth your consideration, she is active but not hyper, actually a great energy level!!  She is very well rounded, never snapped or showed teeth when caring for her babies, in fact if you picked one up, she just licked your hand.

Hope will be spayed prior to going to her new home, she will also be micro chipped, already has been wormed and had her DHPP

Adoption cost for Hope will be $300

Yay!! We have been adopted!!

Mr. Wiggles is a BOXER mix and available and his adoption cost is only $50

Look at this face!!  Who can resist such a cute boy?  Mr. Wiggles is a supper sweet 1-2 year old who is looking for his very own home.  Saved from the CCSPCA, he is such a happy boy, thus the name "Mr. Wiggles", his whole rear end wiggles when he wags his stumpy tail.  This is a great dog who just needs a home.  He would be an excellent dog for the active or semi active family or single.  He loves going on walks, would be an excellent hiking/camping partner and more than anything, he just wants to please his people.

Mr. Wiggles is current on all of his shots (including rabies) has been neutered and micro chipped.

His adoption cost is only $50, you just can't beat that!!

To request and application for Mr Wiggles, please send an e-mail requesting an application to PAWSRESCUE@YMAIL.COM

Leona has been adopted!!!!

Leona came to us from CCSPCA in Fresno.  She was nursing babies and in HORRIBLE condition!  She was so matted that it is a miracle her babies could even nurse.  See smelled of rotting flesh, you could not see her face and long story short she was a train wreck!  She was afraid of people and and totally unsocialized.

We took here to be groomed and found an embedded collar, open sores with MAGGOTS in them (yes, maggots!!), embedded foxtails and other debris!

We are very happy to say that she is doing great now!  After being groomed, she felt a lot better and settled down, pups were weaned and placed into good homes.  After working with Leona for an additional 2 months she became the friendly, playful pup we knew she could be.  Leona has been spayed, adopted and is thriving in her new home with her Lhasa brother.

Congratulations Leona, we are so thrilled that you have a home to call your own and a new brother to play with!!
